Senior Manager - Information Technology -Research Administration (Hybrid) Atlanta, GA

Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Leads, manages and supervises Information Technology (IT) and operations in an integral IT area.
  • Has overall responsibility for a specific IT area including leading specific IT projects and implementation of new versions of software, management of systems and coordination with other IT projects across the division.
  • Is accountable for a specific product and technical environment.
  • Advises management on issues within the specific area that impact the division and enterprise-wide IT services.
  • Ensures compliance and uniform, transparent systems across the division and enterprise by working closely with other area managers and directors.
  • Implements uniform administrative procedures and systems throughout a division.
  • Hires, trains and supervises staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Works with the Research Administration IT Director to achieve technology objectives, including understanding the needs of researchers and administrators, developing and implementing IT solutions, and ensuring that systems are compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Leverages prior project management experience and best practices to plan for and manage solution development/implementation, maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Works collaboratively with a multitude of operational and technical partners. This includes scheduling stakeholder meetings, seeking input on projects and technology, and communicating project status with clear and consistent messaging.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and seven years of related IT experience including demonstrated technical expertise in specific IT areas, project management skills and lead or supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation and production support of an enterprise system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and implementation in a research administration setting. Experience with Huron IRB, IACUC, and COI.
  • Experience leading teams, working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, priorities, and changing deadlines
  • Capacity to lead and develop a team’s skills through effective feedback and coaching, motivating and empowering colleagues while being institutionally minded, strategic, and impactful.
  • Prior experience in Research Administration with a variety of technical solutions.
  • Experience in creating project plans and experience in all phases of the IT lifecycle.
