Job Description:
- Ability to interface with the trading partner / client community to understand the business needs, articulate findings and recommend solutions.
- Respond promptly to client problems and changing business needs while maintaining scheduled commitments.
- Design, develop and implement plans for trading electronic documents via the most efficient and economical methods available.
- Prepare, review and present feasibility studies for various projects to IT management and other departments.
- Diagnose error and recommend remedies to eliminate reoccurring errors
- Recommend changes in iSeries software systems to improve the quality of service provided by Information Technology and further the business interests of Reader link Distribution Services, LLC.
- Design, develop and maintain iSeries software applications to meet company business needs.
- Responsible for all phases of the iSeries software development life cycle: business requirements definition, analysis, design and documentation testing (unit, integration and user acceptance) implementation maintenance
- Create end-user documentation and provide end-user training, with the use of Microsoft office tools.
- Provide production application support including: application monitoring, problem troubleshooting and resolution, capacity planning and performance analysis and tuning to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
- Evaluate, recommend, install and integrate third party products with in-house developed applications.
- Receptive to working with new technologies.
- Periodically perform off hours support and prepare an issues log for IT Management
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years experience in GENTRAN/400 V3.0 or similar EDI product and AS2 expertise in b-Trade or similar technology is required.
- 5+ years application development experience using Embedded SQL, RPG (ILE, Free Form, Service Programs) , CLP, CLLE, DDS is required.
- 5+ years experience in business system development in multi-platform environments required.
- 5+ years experience in Microsoft office tools (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point, Project) required.
