Location: Irvine, CA

• Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases which may include access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and statistical methods.
  
• Create physical database design and implement required database objects according to defined standards.
• Troubleshoot database problems and provide corrective action within an appropriate period of time.
• May maintain database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design.
• Assist in installing, upgrading and configuring database management system software.
• Perform SQL capacity planning.
  
• Monitor and tune SQL and Server performance and proactively resolve problems.
• Manage multiple production SQL Server Clusters.
  
• Experience with SANs.
• Implement security according to defined standards and best practices.
• Independence/Supervision Works under general direction.
• Mentors and advises less experienced DBAs, achieving project goals.
• Uses expertise of other DBAs and leverages a wide range of additional resources to explore/implement complex customized applications as a solution.

• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  

• 8+ years of directly related experience.
• Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used: - Advanced knowledge of one or more database management systems to install, upgrade, configure, design, develop, implement, secure, tune, monitor and maintain required database objects.
• Advanced knowledge of database design to produce sound logical and physical data models.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and coding techniques to code stored procedures and triggers.
• Experience with varied forms of data design, such as online transaction processing, online analytical processing, data warehousing, operational data stores, and decision support systems.
• Microsoft Certified Professional desired
