Primary Purpose Of Position

Job Summary:

  • The person in this role will have a unique opportunity to be a key member of the corporate FP&A group.
  • The person will support the Corporate Director of FP&A in creating monthly financial reports, customer profitability analysis, standard rate analysis, financial models, and annual planning.
  • He or she will also demonstrate high levels of integrity, energy, initiative and brings a strong understanding of business and problem solving skills to the table.
REPORTS TO: Corporate Director of FP&A

  • Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze sales and margin trends by customer and by product
  • Perform price / volume / mix analysis on sales and margins by customer and product
  • Analyze standard costs compared to actual costs
  • Analyze monthly overhead and SG&A trends and report findings to division leaders
  • Analyze P&L variances to prior year/budget
  • Assist in the annual strategic plan and annual operating plan process
  • Coordinate and consolidate divisional monthly forecasts and present IES consolidated results to CEO and CFO
  • Performing analysis to support quarterly lender presentations and board presentations
  • Support divisional and corporate management by providing financial analysis and other quantitative insight using Excel and Infor CPM financial reporting tool.
  • Support and receive significant exposure to the executive (CEO & CFO) leadership team at IES and divisional senior management
  • Perform mergers and acquisition analysis
  • Organizational Relationships
  • This individual reports to the Corporate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • The individual must be capable of working cross functionally with IT, operations, sales, finance and supply chain with a close working relationship with the CFO and Corporate Controller
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

Experience/Education Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • 4-5 years applicable experience preferably as financial analyst
  • Familiarity and applicable experience with various reporting software systems (Cognos / Hyperion) is preferred
  • Strong database and Excel skills required
  • Quick learner who has a strong desire to grow and develop
