Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
Use all phases of system analysis; concepts, techniques, and methods; knowledge of available system software, hardware, regulations, structure, logic, and management practices to design and implement IS security solutions.
- Manages daily security tasks.
- Check report logs on a daily basis
- Analyzes security alerts on a daily basis.
- Implements approved change management security tasks.
- Manages and tunes Intrusion Detection System (IDS) parameters
- Eliminates false positives from IDS on a periodic basis.
- Performs network security assessments on a weekly basis.
- Interfaces with third party vendors performing network assessments and penetration tests.
- Responsible for analyzing risk associated with automated network vulnerability assessments.
- Manages data leakage system on a daily basis including policy changes approved through change management and review of data leakage incidents.
- Manages network related systems for the entire enterprise.
- Manage the Network/Telecommunications connectivity for all branches.
- Manage network Security Devices. (Various uses, there are many Windows based servers used for a variety of network storage.)
- Manage all e-mail related servers.
- Manage Server and Work Station software patch management.
- Overall management of physical and software based security for the network.
- Oversight of the firewall security log. This is a daily job as each day the logs need to be reviewed.
- Oversight of the server system logs. This is a daily job as each day the logs need to be reviewed.
- Responsible for all aspects of the network recovery process.
- Responsible for the management of backup/recovery software and tape management.
- Management of anti-virus/anti-malware software including server and desktop protection.
- Responsible for all aspect of security remediation associated with vulnerability and penetration test.
- Investigate, research and deploy new networking and security technology.
- Provide and manage on-call support and problem resolution for system applications.
- Continued education/learning regarding network and security related technology/practices.
- Oversee the implementation of site wiring/internal connectivity of new office/workspace construction and retired office/workspace removal.
- Provide first tier support on all phone/phone system maintenance, break/fix service, voicemail, call routing, and telecommunications related services.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience in network security administration. Experience with Microsoft products also required.
- Work requires advanced working knowledge of computer networks, as well as Symitar, MS Office, MS Visio, MS Server/Exchange/SQL Systems and other software programs.
- Work requires extensive knowledge of network administration and data security administration.
- In depth understanding of network security best practices.
- In Depth knowledge of hacking/cracking techniques and tools.
EDUCATION
- BA/BS in a network related field or equivalent work experience required.
- MCSA/MCSE, Network + and Security + certification preferred.
