Position Description

• The financial analyst position plays an integral role within the Financial Planning & Analysis team by supporting corporate budgeting/forecasting activities, corporate reporting of key information, variance analysis, audit activities and ad-hoc analysis projects.
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities that assist with the consolidation of the corporate financial plan and include coordination of inputs from various departments
  
• Prepares, analyzes and distributes reports summarizing financial results, segment performance and key business trends on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  
• Performs monthly variance analysis of financial results and key corporate metrics and participates in monthly variance reviews with members of the Finance and Accounting team
  
• Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly
  
• Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing financial results and other data analysis requirements
  
• Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
  
• Performs Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control testing
  
• Assists the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with ad-hoc projects and profitability assessments, internal and external reporting requirements and management presentations
