Summary Of Responsibilities
- Financial Analyst will be responsible for reviewing the Companyâ??s operations and analyzing performance to highlight significant trends and opportunities.
- The position will be primarily tasked with preparing analyzes to improve the companyâ??s cost structure for Raw Materials, Labor productivity, Shipping utilization, etc.
- In addition, this position will assist in pricing strategies, the evaluation of various marketing programs and monitor currency exchange fluctuations. It will also provide back-up support to various Accounting functions to ensure financial reporting and analysis is maintained in an uninterrupted and timely fashion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive model to maintain product margins by SKU, by customer to allow for improvement either through customer pricing strategies or cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage the cost analysis of the Sample Programs to ensure optimal value for the costs associated with procuring materials, minimizing return shipments and reducing shipping costs for each country.
- Analyze accuracy of Labor & Overhead absorption calculations used in Bill of Materials.
- Review financial information down to the customer level to identify trends and highlight potential improvements to increase sales and profitability.
- Prepare Pricing Analysis and make recommendations for price changes for specific customers, markets, regions or countries. Prepare various analyzes of Raw Material components for discussions with management and vendors.
- Review financial statements, monitor performance to budget & provide recommendations to reduce variances.
- Develop annual budgets for international entities and monitor expenditures to budget regularly.
- Review various monthly reports - LTM Cash Collection Percentage, Customer Patient Charts, 17% Deductions, etc.
- Prepare various analyzes of Deductions and other marketing expense trends for review by management.
- Prepare adhoc analysis of various marketing programs including Temporary Price Reductions (TPR), Coupons, Returns, Damages, etc.
- Formulate a Monthly Management Summary of Performance (FPA) with actionable items to improve results.
- Review weekly coupon processing invoices to ensure accuracy and avoid duplication of charges.
- Provide back-up review and approval of daily Accounts Receivable journal entries prepared by the A/R Generalist and reconcile to approved marketing programs with Retailers/Wholesalers.
- Prepare assigned work papers for year-end Financial Audit and responses to queries.
- Complete adhoc requests and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
- Bachelora??s Degree in Mathematics or Accounting, strong Excel and math skills, knowledge of operations in a wholesaler marketing environment and a good understanding of analytical models,
- Accounting and GAAP reporting requirements. CPA, CA or Masters preferred.
Job Experience
- Minimum of seven years of demonstrated accounting experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; at least three years working on analysis with a manufacturer providing products to US Retailers.
- Experience preparing GAAP financial statements with summary analysis and presentation of key findings.
Skills/Competencies
- Thorough understanding of accounting methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent Excel skills with knowledge of pivot tables.
- Skilled in preparing financial analysis in a clear, concise manner which lead to definable actions.
