Brief Job Description: 

The BI Quality assurance engineer is responsible for the testing and support of reporting and analytic solutions. The QA participates in testing all phases of solution development, implementation and continued support of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and other enterprise analytic solutions. This individual will work closely with development team to test the applications. Daily activities include testing of Informatica ETL, OBIEE data warehouse processes that integrate large data sets from multiple sources. Create, maintain test scenario/test cases and tracking defects in Quality Center ALM.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Experience testing data warehouses systems and have defined test approaches for data warehouse projects.
  
• Good understanding of Data warehouse concepts and is able to define test strategies specific to the project needs.
  
• Experience writing complicated SQL statements to test data flow and to perform data analysis.
  
• Experience in creating testing strategies and engineering best practices related to BI testing.
  
• Experience in root cause analysis and defect diagnosis techniques.
  
• Experience working with OBIEE, Oracle database etc.
  
• Experience working with any ETL tools. Good to have Informatica.
  
• Experience coordinating testing activities and optimizing test cycles working with project team.
  
• Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  
• Identify and recommend process improvements as necessary. 
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
• Work to assure the functionality and integrity of ETL solutions. Create test criteria, and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary along with development team.
  

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (information systems, computer science, business).
  
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills (includes but not limited to peers, managers, and the business).
  
• Excellent organizational skills to manage a wide array of testing information.
  
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the IT industry with hands-on continuous work experience in testing/developing end to end Business Intelligence solutions (ETL, reports, dashboards, scorecards) preferably using Informatica and OBIEE.
  
• Minimum 1 year of primary experience with Database development using SQL
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
