Job Description:
Role :- Work/Day Services Manager
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the operation of vocational services in a workshop setting, including personnel, budget, compliance with agency policy, state/federal regulations, or standards of service, and quality of program to persons served.
- Supervises workshop/day program staff.
- Oversees/participates in the hiring process of all assigned positions in accordance with policy and local, state, and federal employment law.
- Ensures all assigned staff receive training and supervision as needed to meet performance expectations.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of all documentation related to staff (new hires, terms, evals, leave requests, corrective actions, etc.).
- Provides oversight and acts as role-model/mentor to staff in the performance of their duties.
- Conducts investigations and ensures appropriate follow through on recommendations.
- Manages contracts and supervises the work of contract staff.
- Oversees ongoing contracts.
- Supervises and trains staff on contract work.
- Oversees determination of wages for persons served.
- Oversees setup of new contracts.
- Conducts annual prevailing wage surveys and resultant contract updates.
- Receives and reviews work records, production summaries, and related contract documents.
- Maintains good customer relations with current business partners.
- Provides support to persons served.
- Oversees the treatment/support services provided by vocational staff.
- Serves as liaison for appropriate Service Coordinators.
- Coordinators/resolves conflicts in resources for provision of services.
- Attends support plans or special reviews, as necessary.
- Monitors program documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
- Evaluates and monitors program effectiveness.
- Monitors individual financial records.
- Monitors individual medication administration records.
- Provides budget and financial oversight.
- Assists in the development and monitoring of assigned budgets.
- Remains within budgeted expenses for service areas.
- Reviews and assigns referrals for placement.
- Conducts and monitors service integrity and compliance to service site/company policy to maintain licensure.
- Monitors staffing schedules, overtime, staff vacancy rates.
- Conducts/participates in internal investigations assigned and ensures/monitors follow-up to recommendations.
Specific Requirements
- BA/BS in Business, Health Care Administration or a Social Science or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent job experience of 3 years.
- Exceptions to educational requirements must comply with state law. Exceptions must have written approval of the Regional Vice President.
- One Year of supervisory experience required. Prior experience providing services and supports to individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to travel to multiple service sites, staying overnight as necessary.
- Experience in managing systems, processes and people.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations concerning services to individuals with mental retardation and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with working knowledge of Excel, Word, etc. desired.
