Job Description Summary

  • The Business Analyst (BA) is a strategic IT position that acts as a liaison between the business community and IT development.
  • The position is responsible for interpreting business needs and defining system requirements to meet business objectives.
  • To accomplish this the BA needs to effectively communicate with project stakeholders and developers (both internal and external).
  • The BA is also responsible for the research and resolution of user issues.
  • When applicable the BA needs to lead the relationship with outside vendors.
  • Elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, and workflow analysis.
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into details, piece together low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and be able to deliver the following as needed:
  • Business Requirements Document, Process Flows, Use Cases, Interface designs.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Work independently with users to define concepts.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Be able to serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
  • Collaborate with developers (internal and external) and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Drive best practice standards and future state directions in order to meet business goals.
  • Ensure system documentation is current. Ability to coordinate and test system modifications.
  • Ability to document and deliver system training as required.
  • Ability to respond to user issues related to processes and applications.
  • The tools required for this include vendor support sites and working with both internal and external developers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant, hands-on, professional experience in a global heterogeneous technical environment.
  • Minimum 5 -?? 7 years Oracle JDE E1 experience.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Project management skills.
