Job Description:
- Performs quality assurance program development and administration functions to support corporate and project needs.
- Provides independent oversight of quality developments affecting the Companyâ??s operations. Plans and executes formal audits and surveillance programs to assure a high level of compliance with the Quality Policy, Quality Management Plan and associated regulatory commitments and requirements and makes sure employees are properly informed of same.
- Updates the CEO and Executive Committee on issues of policies and practices regarding quality responsibilities.
- Acts as a sounding board and resource for the CEO and COO on matters that concern the Company quality performance and takes a lead in dealing with difficult inter-organizational issues, such as resolving deviations from policy.
- Acts as a primary point of contact and source of advice/guidance for non-executive managers with regard to the company and its activities in order to assist their decision-making or performance process.
- Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, code, and industry standard requirements and ensures that corporate regulatory disclosures are completed for quality functions.
- Delivers quality assurance orientation and training to employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
The minimum qualifications for this position shall meet the requirements of section 2.2.5 of Power Quality Assurance Program Description ? PG-0202-9680.
Education: A minimum of a bachelors degree in engineering or related science. An engineering degree is preferred. (1)
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of applied commercial nuclear industry experience 5 years of supervisory or management experience, and at least 10 years of QA experience required. Other QA experience working in a commercial engineering or technical field preferred. Experience as a Lead Auditor in NRC regulated activities preferred. (1)
Industry Requirements:
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Overall Job Knowledge and Performance: In-depth understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories and the quality requirements thereto. Strong evidence of QA organization leadership, program development, quality strategy and corrective action program execution required.
Management: Management and supervisory skills and experience or training in leadership, interpersonal communication, management responsibilities, motivation of personnel, problem analysis and decision making, and administrative policies and procedures. Proven track record of managing staff from multiple disciplines and coordinating design oversight to all design, analysis and other quality programs in a timely manner.
Skills: Strong technical writing skills. Good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex quality oversight of projects with multiple work phases, locations (including international) and distributed company resources.
Quality Assurance:
- Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 preferred.
