Job Description:

  • Manage Procurement, expediting, supplier quality surveillance, material control and logistics of equipment and bulk construction materials on a project
  • Plan, organize and direct the activities of buyers, contracts administrators, expeditors, inspectors, and shipping and logistics staff, for the supply of necessary materials, equipment and fabrication services, in accordance with the projectâ??s standards, specifications and schedules
  • Manage the supply chain work process and reporting the status of these multiple SCM disciplines to senior project management and client.
  • Review of all documentation, evaluations, recommendations, contract conditions and changes.
  • Review of all pre and post-tender and post-award administration
  • Providing general and direct supervision to the supply chain staff on the project and fostering a learning environment
  • Workforce forecasting, budget preparation, completion of performance appraisals, and proposal input and development
  • Act as liaison with the client for all supply chain disciplines
  • Lead development of global sources of supply
  • Minimal to moderate amount of travel to site, client offices and supplier facilities
  • Comply with export control compliance laws, code of business conduct and supply chain code of conduct, and ensuring compliance by all SCM staff and supply base
  • Participation in critical supplier and contractor negotiations

Skills / Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience in a project supply chain management or supervisory role in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals sector, with a minimum of 6 years of recent experience in Petrochemical projects
  • Bachelorâ??s degree in Business, Commerce, Construction Management, or Engineering is preferred
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain disciplines, as well as in SCM strategies/planning, overall RFQ/RFP development and issuance, subsequent negotiation and award and change/claims management of complex high value engineering and construction purchases
  • Fully knowledgeable and experienced in the means, processes and methods needed to successfully develop the materials management program for the project
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and make presentations to project and external groups and stakeholders
  • Excellent computer literacy skills and skills in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to quickly learn our proprietary supply chain software
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Experience working on international projects is an asset
