Job Description:
Role: Payroll Manager
Location:Downtown Chicago
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data for corporate employees
- Uses DataFlex and MS Great Plains to produce accurate and timely payroll.
- Supervises payroll specialists in the department
- Oversees processing of weekly payrolls for 23,000+ employees
- Oversee processing of Garnishments
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
- Works with outside vendors that interact with payroll processes ( tax vendor, WOTC Credit; pay stubs; W-2s)
- Maintains working relationships with payroll, accounting teams and branch office teams
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting
- At least 3 years of payroll experience in the large multi-state company
- Prior supervisory experience with exceptional leadership skills
- Must have knowledge of tax reporting in multi-state setting
- Strong investigation and follow-up skills; attention to detail
- Comfortable working with IT professionals on system interface issues
- Experience with MS Office including Outlook and Excel
