Job Description:
- Principal Duties And Responsibilities Demonstrate technical excellence for clients business; for IP Networking track:
- Possess deep understanding of clients IP based Network & associated technologies relevant to data center design & operations.
- Provides technical problem resolution for network issues and performs troubleshooting, problem isolation and corrective action to restore service to clients customers and partners;
- This may involve participating in a crisis bridge during and after business hours, esp. in a support role.
- Provides thorough analysis of existing network infrastructure and implements changes to support operations for new and existing business; provide configuration changes, hardware and software updates for Cisco, Juniper, Citrix, F5 devices as may be required to implement the change.
- Participate in network engineering/optimization planning sessions and provides recommendations on improving network stability & performance.
- Take ownership of creating detailed designs and industry best practices for architecting a hosted cloud service from a network perspective.
- Demonstrate technical excellence for clients business; specific to SS7 track:
- Design and implement SS7 networks to support new Customer implementation Initiatives.
- This includes designs for LTE network builds.Engage customers & operations to test connectivity, troubleshoot outages & collect, analyze network traces to recommend configuration / implementation changes.
- Provide configuration changes, hardware and software updates for Tekelec, PT, Cisco devices as may be required to implement the change
- Work with engineering development to escalate problems and to recommend changes to enable more efficient troubleshooting or customer on-boarding
- Drives continuous improvement by leading efforts to improve the existing SS7 network architecture, monitoring tools and alarming capability and recommends changes to enhance quality of service
- Additional responsibilities in Step II (Sr Network Consultant)o Can quickly move from one issue to another, analyzing and localizing problem to quick resolution Manages inter& intra-departmental issues through effective problem solving.
- Deliver in a Cross Functional role Conceive & execute plans for network systems support and monitoring tools Participate in inter-departmental meetings for service enhancement opportunities, tools development, and reporting enhancements
- Execute monitoring & capacity assessment tools for clients network elements Analyze vulnerability & resiliency of network to perform disaster recovery tests quarterly, half yearly or annually and create coverage reports.
- Additional responsibilities for Step II (Sr Network Consultant)Provides Technical expertise & consulting to internal and external customers
- Contributes to decision making process with other team members as well as Manager Surveillance & Restoral Ensures reported issues and service interruptions are addressed within severity level guidelines 15%
- Communication & Operational excellence Champion IT SM processes for making any changes to clients network, after obtaining suitable approval from authorities.
- Continuously optimize process for balancing efficiency with quality.
- Communicate with Network Operations Center & Customer Service Hotline for information gathering, customer status updates during trouble resolution
- Works closely with customer technical resources and management to resolve issues; provide updates and information as necessary to all levels of management
- Quantify and describes complex technical issues to customers and internal personnel to promote quicker issue resolution Provide training or tutoring to new employees or other departments.
- Share knowledge and best practices with other personnel via knowledge base articles, tech talks.
- Develop Procedure and Network Diagram Documentation and verifying network documentation against installed base.
- Innovation & Ingenuity Challenge status quo and research, recommend and implement new tools, processes and techniques to deliver network operational excellence and optimal customer experience from a network perspective.
- Analyze most recent technology trends and evaluate their suitability to clients business.
- Additional responsibilities for Step II (Sr Network Consultant)Conceive and pilot new business generating ideas, via partnership with Development, other units in Tech Ops.
