Job Description Summary:
The JIRA Administrator position is responsible for managing, updating and maintaining JIRA and Confluence for client’s teams across the country.
This person will be gathering team needs & configuring the JIRA system to support them. Familiarity with any JIRA add-ons like Portfolio, Tempo, Confluence, Zephyr, etc. is important.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include:
• Experience using JIRA on Windows/SQL Server platforms
• Able to understand system performance & assist with build-out/scaling of our JIRA system
• Able to troubleshoot JIRA application issues and add-on integration issues
• Meeting with stakeholders to identify JIRA Project and Confluence needs and implementing them as appropriate.
• Resolving issues as they arise with JIRA Projects and Confluence in coordination with JIRA hosting partner team.
• Managing JIRA templates, workflows, and other functionality in support of departmental customers.
• Creation and management JIRA templates and complex JIRA workflows including project workflows, screen schemes, permission scheme and notification schemes.
• Grant user permission to projects according to the role given by the company.
• Conduct training for employees and new hires on JIRA and Confluence on how to use the tools, new functionality, etc.
• Updating existing materials and generating new materials as needed
• Ability to lead and provide technical assistance during major JIRA and Confluence upgrades.
• Develop and compile training materials based on the department’s needs.
• Working with our JIRA instance hosting provider on necessary upgrades and communications with others on planned outages.
Skills/Experience Include:
• Expert level tool administration knowledge on JIRA.
• Proficient with Atlassian tool suite.
• Excellent problem solving skills, process implementation skills.
• Experience with hosted environments and remotely co-located systems.
• Experience developing JIRA plugins using Atlassian SDK is a plus.(.i.e Rally plugins)
• Has been a JIRA Administrator in the past where one has customized JIRA projects with various schemas
** The ideal candidate will be familiar with system add-ons and integrations, as well a working knowledge of XML (Extensible Markup Language) and SQL.
