Need Automation Engineer (Java with unit Testing)

As an Automation Engineer you will work will with allaspects of software development lifecycle and be the Scrum team’s primaryenabler of increased automation and quality enhancements.

Candidate must have a solid understanding of middlewaremessaging technology with proven experience working in a multi-tieredenvironment.

Candidate should be well versed in testing techniques and beable to produce comprehensive tests for all developed code.

Candidate must also support and participate in system andintegrated testing across sub-systems as the need arises.

Candidate should be capable of producing solid documentationboth inside code and external design specifications.

Responsibilities:

•  Leading regressiontesting activities for initiatives across one or more assigned projects,utilizing processes, methods, metrics and software that ensure the quality,reliability and systems safety and security.

•  Understanding theinterfacing applications, test environments and our tools andmethodologies. 

•  Drive test strategyformulation with developers including decomposition of business and technicalrequirements into test case scenarios, defining test data requirements, overseeand advise on test case creation, devising contingencies plans and otherpreparation activities. 

•  Ensure developmentof test case execution plan and oversee test case execution, issue management,and status metrics. 

•  Working with aglobal team and responsible for directing/reviewing the test planning andexecution work efforts of an offshore team. 

•  Communicatingeffectively with business units, IT Development, Project Management and othersupport staff on testing timelines, deliverables, status and other information.

•  Assisting in theproject quality reviews for your assigned applications

•  Assessing risk tothe project based on the execution and validation and making appropriaterecommendations

•  Ability tointerpret quality audits, drive improvements and change, and facilitate testmethodology discussions across the business unit

•  Additional areas ofresponsibilities include:

                o  Providing project implementation support onan as needed basis

                o  Assisting with application training of newresources.

                o  Acting as a liaison between the Line ofBusiness testing resources and the development team

Qualifications:

•  7 + years inInformation technology, minimum 5  yearsof experience working with full SDLC

•  Strong knowledgeand experience in Agile Methodology

•  Strong knowledge oftesting methodologies with specialization in Web services, middlewaretechnologies and UI automation

•  Must workcollaboratively with BSA/Developers and proactively identify defects duringeach Iteration / Sprint.

•  Must be detailoriented and capable of analyzing issues from the perspective ofcustomers/users

•  Experience intesting SOAP / REST services.

•  Experience withTDD, code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito

•  Hands-on experiencewith understanding and updating Gherkin (Given/When/Then) will be a plus

•  Hands on experienceon with Test cycle management tools like JIRA/HP ALM

•  Strong Knowledge ofquality assurance principles, techniques and tools required

•  3+ years of handson automation development using SOAP UI with Java or groovy.

•  3+ years of handson automation development using LISA or Cucumber

•  3+ years of handson with development and test automation tools/frameworks (e.g. BDD andCucumber)

•  Experience with APIand service testing

Preferred Skills:

•   3+ years ofexperience as software developer using any one of Object oriented languages(e.g. Java/Ruby, Python, C#, C++, etc.)

•   Experience withSpring

•   Strongunderstanding of OOP & SOA principles, design patterns, industry bestpractices

•   Experiencebuilding / testing REST and SOAP web services

•   Experience withSQL/Stored Procedures on one of the following databases (DB2, MySQL, Oracle)

•   Experience withscripting and working in a Linux environment

•   Experience workingon large and medium scale software projects

•   Experiencebuilding distributed systems at Internet scale

•   Experience workingin a fast-paced financial services/digital focused delivery environment.
