Role:.Net/Java Full Time Developer Bootcamp Instructor

Location:Independence, OH

Manager's Comments:

• we are looking for something pretty specific in terms of experience in teaching.
• We do not do Visa transfer or pay for relocation or have a signing bonus or performance bonus as this is teaching position
  

Teaching Responsibilities

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Instruct assigned course(s) following the structured syllabus.
  
• Acts as a student advisor in assigned course(s), on campus labs and projects according the to the approved curriculum plan.
  
• Assures student assignments are understood by students and clearly communicated to part time instructors and other staff as needed.
  
• Advise students on their academic performance as it relates to attendance, grades, and participation to ensure each student can be successful in the program
  
• Evaluate each students achievement and progress. Recommends strategies for success and tutors students to assist them in meeting course objectives.
  
• Advise students on career options and best use of their talents
  
• In collaboration with the Director of Education, implement teaching strategies that will assist the student in meeting course objectives.
  
• Record students attendance, grades, document academic success and coaching plans for each student.
  
• Other duties as developed and assigned
  

Other Instructor Responsibilities:

• Onboard and mentor part time instructors
  
• Observe, coach and teach other instructors on best practices and what works in the classroom.
  
• As part of the instructor team, participate in the on-going development of the curriculum, syllabi, exams, labs and projects as needed using the assigned textbooks and included instructional materials such as labs and slides.
  
• In collaboration with the Director of Education, assist with the training and onboarding of new instructors, so that each student receives a consistent education and delivery of materials to match our stated objectives for the program.
  
• Work closely with the Blue Ocean Coding team to promote our studentâ??s success in achieving a prominent position after graduation.
  
• Participate in marketing initiatives for Blue Ocean Coding such as on campus Open Houses, graduation etc.
  
• Help build and promote the program through networking, participation in the industry and other events.
  
• Attend a two-day required on-boarding program and participate in meetings, training and development opportunities as needed / required.
  
• Some evening and weekend work required.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Education and Experience:

• This is a full stack development bootcamp, therefore instructors must have significant experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript along with Microsoft .NET (C#/ASP.NET/MS SQL) OR Java (Tomcat/Spring MVC). Tech Development Skills - Full Stack Development
  
• One year of demonstrated Technical Instruction experience is required. Will be required to perform a â??test teachâ?? during the interviewing process.
  
• A degree is strongly preferred but not required.
  
• 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in software development
  
• 5-7 years of demonstrated people management
  
• 5-7 years of demonstrated project management
