Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business Unit Leader and regional directors to create and manage a service-oriented function that provides solutions for business challenges, including a full range of financial and project analysis and communication support, regional business and financial planning support, project cost review and periodic reporting, reconciliations, monthly and quarterly project status schedules and analysis, and project revenue and cost forecasting.
  • Perform monthly project reviews with Project Managers, Construction Directors, and Business Unit V.P.s to review status of each project, analyze costs and cost accruals, prepare forecasts, adjust budgets, prepare final project analysis and closeouts. Review all project costs, project capitalized costs, asset (inventory) and accruals. If applicable, work with structured finance group to ensure financed projects are properly accounted for.
  • Monitor and analyze project revenues and costs to ensure complete and accurate cost accumulation and revenue recognition. Prepare revenue deferral schedules, cost adjustments, and other related items and provide to Accounting Transactions teams with supporting information for processing in the correct accounting period. Ensure accurate and timely closing deadlines are achieved and in full compliance with US GAAP.
  • Manage construction cost execution and will work closely with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Construction and Finance
  • Forecast project budgets, provide cost reporting and analyze cost variance
  • Provide senior management with budget updates and tracking, variance reports, and partner with the operations team to improve cost performance and project management documentation
  • Partner with Procurement, Project Management, Construction and Engineering to oversee the deployment/build phase and manage costs during construction.
  • Forecast construction budgets, vendor cost management, and other financial management requirements.
  • Identify cost concerns, variances, and potential problems, escalate to support successful resolutions.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and management reporting
  • Develop and maintain key metrics to support the project team and management
  • Prepare monthly management review presentation and variance analysis
  • Understand and support all aspects of the daily operations for the project accounting team including invoicing, accounts payables and accounts receivables

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required.
  • 5 years engineering or construction project accounting work experience addressing financial and management accounting issues.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA degree
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to identify issues and interpret and apply accounting policies
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Dynamics or similar project accounting software system.
  • Advanced business acumen with superior numeric, analytical, problem-solving, financial reporting skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service including adaptability, flexibility, teambuilding, and the ability to respond quickly to assist with problem resolution.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at multiple management and business unit levels and locations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills.
