Job Requirements
Project Responsibilities:
- As new technology projects are planned this role will need to review the technology function being proposed and collect requirements to determine inclusion demands into the overall system architecture and interoperability; with emphasis on network connectivity and performance.
- Common expectations are to present plans to the project and governance teams and agree how to carry them out.
- Site build projects (move, acquisition, and expansion) require consultation with project teams, project manager, and application owners on proper delivery of network solutions to support
- Network connectivity delivery
- Site survey and evaluation planning
- Facilities partnership and planning
- Vendor (i.e. cabling, municipality, etc) coordination
- Documentation
- Project implementation and build execution as defined by Sr. Engineers
Operational Responsibilities:
- Juniper Support and Configuration management
- Network Automation and administration
- Engagement and collaboration with site local contacts (LCONs)
- Level 2 support escalation and engagement
- Problem management for root cause analysis and remediation
- Information pipeline back to architecture resources
Core Job Requirements:
Essential Education/Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or comparable discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of experience in Information Technology in the management, configuration, modification, installation, and evaluation of network systems hardware and software
- 4+ years of experience in global enterprise environment (MUST)
- Work experience with Network operating systems such as JunOS, Cisco IOS, F5, and RIOS
- JunOS (Advanced), Cisco IOS (Advanced), F5 (Intermediate), and RiOS (Intermediate)
- Excellent BGP / OSPF protocols understanding, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- BGP (Intermediate), OSPF (Advanced)
- Experience deploying QoS, MPLS, L2VPN\'s and L3VPN\'s.
- Able to troubleshoot layer 2-5 issues.
- Can create designs or take a design from a design engineer and implement it.
- Familiar with Data Center Architecture - Network, Servers, Storage
- Ability to work on a heterogeneous network consisting of different hardware manufacturer.
- Strong knowledge of data and voice ISP and circuit technology TDM, SIP, T/E1, Ethernet, FastEthernet, and GigabitEthernet.
- Strong vendor management
- JNCIS Certification desired
- Experience with Windows and Linux
