  • The Financial Analyst role is a newly created position to support the organization with:
  • Optimizing financial and business processes.
  • Preparing and monitoring of financial plans; and
  • Analysis of strategic opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform process improvement projects, including, documenting current state of key business process and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide business managers and executive team with financial and operational insights;
  • Support the short- and long-term financial planning process, including:
  • Analysis of the companys revenue forecasts and departmental budgets;
  • Preparation of balance sheet and cash flow forecasts;
  • Development of presentations to help summarize budget in a comprehensive and understandable format;
  • Analysis of actual to plan fluctuations with business managers and reporting to the executive team;
  • Perform solid financial and operational analysis that the executive team can leverage to make important business decisions;
  • Provide financial and analytical support to executive team in analyzing strategic projects and guide projects to implementation;
  • Provide thought leadership in developing practical solutions to complex analytical problems;
  • Interface directly with business managers and members of the executive team;
  • The Analyst is expected to be able to design and lead complex projects, similar in style and scope to those experienced at a management consulting firm;
  • This is an ideal position for a very strong individual who would like to gain strong operating experience in a dynamic transportation company with strong visibility and mentorship;
  • The Associate will primarily report to the Finance Director but will be responsible for projects across departments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree with focus on economics / corporate finance;
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative);
  • Proficiency in financial modeling with Excel and data analysis using SQL, R and Python queries;
  • Excellent communication skills written, oral and interpersonal;
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a collegial, team framework;
  • Focused, organized, results-oriented individual with desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment;
  • Financial analysis and process improvement experience from consulting or public accounting firm will be considered a plus..
