Job Description:
Role:Human Resources Specialist
Location: Kapolei, HI
- Conducts new hire orientation for craft and non-craft personnel.
- Performs background checks for new hires.
- Orders and maintains inventory of new hire orientation/safety materials.
- Monitors and manager subcontractors to ensure they are in compliance with I-9 requirements.
- Ensures compliance with DOT agency regulations, maintaining thorough familiarity with state and federal regulations, company policy, union agreements and daily operating procedures.
- Responsible to ensure pre-employment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol tests.
- Ensures program confidentiality, making sure the program complies with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintaining all documentation
- Ensuring compliance with customer contract terms and conditions.
- General administrative assistances to Region.
- Administrative tasks including new hire personnel records filing.
- Monitors annual and semi-annual required re-training requirements and ensures compliance with employees.
- Assisting in monitoring of accounting, purchase orders and project financial reviews.
- Assisting in analyzing work progress.
- Coordinating and administering routine contract work using standardized and prescribed methods.
- Ensuring compliance with customer contract terms and conditions.
- Assist the procurement department with activies when nessesary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure security of sensitive employee information.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business or equivalent experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management or a business-related field.
- Proficient in software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 20 lb
