Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new suppliers through on-site assessments and APQP.
- Participate in material review board to resolve conflict.
- Review supplier submitted PPAP documentation and approve or work with supplier to resolve issues.
- Perform process and product audits and populate appropriate scorecards to track process and product performance.
- Manage tool calibrations, layouts, troubleshooting, and inspector training.
- Use performance evaluation and prediction to improve the safety, reliability and maintainability of products and systems.
- Plan reliability tests and conduct analysis of field failures.
- Develop and maintain reliability information systems for failure analysis and performance improvement.
- Recommend and establish test and procedures for assuring product reliability.
- Serve as liaison between engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to assure quality and reliability.
- Assist in the development of business process and production scorecard to identify COPQ opportunities for cost reduction efforts
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers to reduce production process variations and waste reduction through the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
- Assess and develop project hand-off strategy to Manufacturing Engineers and Operational Excellence Engineers.
- Maintain electronic records within the warranty system for all bodies built by Utilimaster.
- Create custom reports from data stored on the AS400.
- Track, report and provide leadership to optimize company performance by reducing the cost of internal and external failures through preventive and corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management or related field required
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in identification and elimination of COPQ and cost reduction implementation
- Strong leadership and organization skills
