Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new suppliers through on-site assessments and APQP.
  • Participate in material review board to resolve conflict.
  • Review supplier submitted PPAP documentation and approve or work with supplier to resolve issues.
  • Perform process and product audits and populate appropriate scorecards to track process and product performance.
  • Manage tool calibrations, layouts, troubleshooting, and inspector training.
  • Use performance evaluation and prediction to improve the safety, reliability and maintainability of products and systems.
  • Plan reliability tests and conduct analysis of field failures.
  • Develop and maintain reliability information systems for failure analysis and performance improvement.
  • Recommend and establish test and procedures for assuring product reliability.
  • Serve as liaison between engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to assure quality and reliability.
  • Assist in the development of business process and production scorecard to identify COPQ opportunities for cost reduction efforts
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers to reduce production process variations and waste reduction through the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Assess and develop project hand-off strategy to Manufacturing Engineers and Operational Excellence Engineers.
  • Maintain electronic records within the warranty system for all bodies built by Utilimaster.
  • Create custom reports from data stored on the AS400.
  • Track, report and provide leadership to optimize company performance by reducing the cost of internal and external failures through preventive and corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management or related field required
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in identification and elimination of COPQ and cost reduction implementation
  • Strong leadership and organization skills
