Job Description:
Role: Oracle Database / Linux Developer
Location: Orlando, FL
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop efficient and maintainable code using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL Loader, Stored Procedures, Packages, functions, Toad or similar, Unix/Linux Shell scripting (ksh), CRON and Oracle Scheduler.
- Design and code from specifications, analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document, and implement complex solutions.
- Create and automate the delivery of client reports and data extracts.
- Provide ongoing support to enhance and maintain multiple database systems, ksh scripts and PL/SQL procedures.
- Maintain, monitor, and track multiple database system functionality.
- Assist in the setup of new Client Database Systems.
- Build, maintain, and optimize Data Marts for efficient usage by applications and users.
- Optimize, tune, and refactor complex SQL queries.
- Use ETL techniques including bulk select, bulk insert, arrays, dynamic SQL, and incremental ETL processes.
- Take part in project planning sessions in an AGILE Environment using JIRA with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Team Members to analyze business requirements, outline the proposed solution, and provide design documents for project team.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and plan time to ensure project milestones are met.
- Provide on-call support for production systems.
- Assist with the monitoring of systems using New Relic.
SKILLS
- Three years minimum experience using Oracle RDBMS (10g,11g,12c).
- Three years minimum experience with SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader utilities.
- Three years minimum experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting, Perl,Python
- Three years minimum experience using advanced ETL techniques and developing detailed incremental ETL processes.
- Experience in the design and implementation of data warehousing and data mart activities in multiple, large scale database environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix scripting skills (ksh, bash, rsync, expect, tcl, md5sum, mknod, crontab).
- Experience with TOAD for Oracle or comparable tool.
- Experience tuning complex SQL queries using explain plans, trace and AWR reports.
- Exceptional problem solving skills and superior ability to think and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
- Airline industry experience and familiarity with airline business models a plus.
- Experience with SVN and Liquibase a plus.
- Experience in MySQL a plus.
- Experience using JIRA a plus
