Summary:

The Senior Mechanical ProjectEngineer is responsible for engineering mechanical designs in the BU Productsdepartment.

General Duties:

•             Design and develop machine concepts to customer andproject specifications for all equipment including purchased and manufactured

•             Work with applications engineering and sales to fullyunderstand scope of work, project requirements and time-lines & projectschedules

•     Assist with creating proposal models,drawings and sketches during the quoting phase

•             Work with project management to fully understand projectrequirements, develop cost effective and innovative solutions and work throughany design concerns or missing information

•             Collaborate with internal and external vendors to createand test functional prototypes of new components including component changesand design improvements

•     Ensure that all designs and concepts arein compliance with current safety standards

•     Ensure that actual design costs are withinthe estimated project design costs

•     Work within project milestones includingbudgets, schedules and project time-lines

•             Work with and lead design team of engineers on projectswith responsibility of assigning design work on projects to the team and leadthem effectively throughout the project

•             Responsible for planning and implementing all internaldesign reviews, external customer design reviews and project handover tomanufacturing

•     Work with manufacturing and operations toalign engineering with assembly and machining capabilities

•             Attend kick-off meetings with team; assign engineeringresponsibilities to mechanical design engineers and work with the team as theproject lead

•             Understand fully and apply GD&T to drawing package asrequired by technical specifications and/or project requirements

•             Oversee design, detail, bills of materials, designreviews and check of all aspects of the mechanical design package
