Job description We have a opening in our Information Technology function for an ECommerce Platform Architect in theInformation, Platform & Architecture Center of Excellence (IPACoE). No relocation is being offered for this position. If the candidate resides within 50 miles of Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate must work at that site. If thecandidate resides more than 50 miles away from Beachwood, Ohio,Candidate will work from a remote home office. The ECommerce Platform Architect designs and architects technical foundation for eCommerce platform, utilizing Oracles Commerce solutions. This role serves as the key influencer in setting technical strategy for eCommerce and designs, develops, and delivers solutions to provide new capabilities and solve complex business problems. Technical areas of responsibility include: Conceptualizing, designing, and implementing platform architectures that serve as long-term building blocks for all eCommerce solutions Maintaining eCommerce systems through understanding of the software platforms and supporting sub-systems (OS / data layer / application server / web server) Solving complex technical and process problems to ensure platform sustainability and performance through problem identification, investigation, vendor interaction, planning, and resolution Architecting, developing, and delivering complex eCommerce solutions, including elements of User Interface and Information Architecture design Interacting with internal and external customers, defining business requirements, planning work breakdown structures, ordering delivery, and guiding execution Providing technical leadership to eCommerce team by defining architectural standards and mentoring more junior resources and performing code reviews Implementing and managing automated code deployment tools and processes Implementing and managing automated code quality analysis tools and processes Managing merging of multiple project code bases and branches as part of a monthly release process. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment, and facilitate technical solution delivery Prototype and framework development Definition of design and development standards for eCommerce platform and peripheral applications Champion solution flexibility, reuse, and legacy-application retirement Accountable for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality. Areas of responsibility include: Development of proactive monitoring solutions for all solution elements Event correlation across solution elements, including analysis and resolution Monitoring and analysis of performance and availability data Incident analysis, documentation, and resolution Capacity planning, maintenance, and system patching End-user support and communication Works within IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment. Areas of responsibility include: eCommerce platform challenges, direction, and roadmap Solution concept design and estimation Inter-team and intra-team communication Commitment to knowledge sharing Management of distinct project segments Desired Skills and Experience Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of experience developing eCommerce platforms Minimum of 3 years of experience with enterprise systems Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Position Criteria: Expertise designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining IT applications Experience successfully delivering on all aspects of a technology project Experience successfully delivering on all aspects of a large, enterprise-wide project Exposure to several layers of technology solutions: hardware, application administration, application development, support, etc Experience in enterprise application architecture Experience with system integration through various methods, including APIs Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle preferred) Strong knowledge of Java programming Knowledge of presentation-layer technologies (HTML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Bootstrap) Knowledge of Information Architecture/Taxonomy concepts and best practices Knowledge of refactoring and system maintainability best practices Knowledge of SOA (SOAP and REST) Exposure to ReactJS Requires the ability to work on multiple projects of varying scope and scale Requires the ability to handle ambiguous situations and execute upon a direction Preferred Qualifications Experience developing Oracle Commerce, ATG, Endeca, etc. platforms Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
