B. Position Summary: Briefly summarize the main purpose of this position. Why does this position exist?
The Quality Assurance Manager role in the factory is very diverse. Their primary function is to ensure that the product that is produced is safe for consumption and that it meets all applicable regulatory, customer and internal requirements. As the leader of the quality team, the QA Manager is responsible for hiring, developing and overseeing the members of the quality and sanitation team. In addition, the QA Manager serves as a technical resource to the other departments and assists with projects as needed. The QA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the quality management system within the facility.

Conformance to Specifications
1. Oversee production and analysis of product.
2. Assist QA techs with recording and maintaining accurate records of test results as necessary.
3. Analyze, perform root cause analysis and make a disposition on Non-conforming raw materials and finished goods.

Quality Management System Maintenance
1. Update and document procedures and instructions regarding laboratory testing and equipment calibrations.
2. Update and document procedures and instructions regarding cook room and production testing and processes.
3. Ensure conformance to SQF Level II standards as well as customer and FSMA regulations.

Continuous Improvement
1. Lead plant lean teamand drive lean project initiatives.
2. Evaluate current lab practices against industry standards for improvements.
3. Manage departmental budget to meet goals.

D. Scope: Please describe various dimensions of this position that will show its depth in relation to the overall organization
Oversee quality checks on the production lines, review results from both production and the cook room and make release decision based on data.
Review blend sheets, check ingredients, lot numbers and confirm allergens as needed.
Analyze and dispose of nonconforming products and raw materials.
Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.
Lead external and internal audits as needed.
Communicate quality and food safety requirements to plant leadership as well as plant team.
