Essential Functions
The Business Development managers primary role is to achieve assigned annual revenue and gross margin quotas by establishing relationships and contracts with NEW customers in the St. Louis area and nationally.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
• Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
• Develops negotiating strategies by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partnersâ?? needs and goals.
• Drives the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
• Consults with prospect about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits.
• Maintains a high level of relevant technology/solution knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects
• Plans and prepares presentations
• Works with technical staff and product specialists where required to address customer requirements
• Reports and tracks opportunities using a CRM tool
• Provides forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods
• Works with delivery teams to proactively address problems
