Job Description:
Key responsibilities:
Function as the Lead Electrical Engineer in the design and preparation of construction documents, while providing technical direction to engineers, designers and drafters assigned to specific projectsClient interaction including presentations at various stages of the project.
Ensure that Discipline QA reviews are being conducted and recorded per company policiesProvide upfront engineering services including studies and concept developmentDesign, develop and implement solutions for the microelectronics and other industrial facilities.
Produce and check complex 2D and 3D Design Drawings for high technology facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications and proceduresResponsible for coordination & multi discipline clash checking including the resolving of issues using Navisworks.
Provide design support during the construction phase of projectsSite surveys of existing services to ascertain built? conditions
Education & experience:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Semiconductor, life sciences and data center/mission critical facility experience preferredNY State PE license desiredPrevious experience on a number of BIM projects.
Ability to integrate as part of a team to meet the Client DeliverablesEssential skills:
Ability to create one-line diagrams and calculate connected loadCompetency in laying out electrical equipment on the plan and coordinate with mechanical, process, architectural and structural disciplineCapable of sizing feeders and OCPD.
Understanding of NEC, NFPA and building codesKnowledge of LV and MV electrical systemsAbility to route major conduit runs and large cable trays through the facility in coordination with other disciplinesProficiency in modeling of electrical circuits and running engineering analysis using SKM and EasyPowerExperience with grounding grid, cable pulling and lighting calculation softwareExperience with editing Division 26 specifications from master templatesExcellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with a working knowledge of Microsoft office Outlook, Excel & WordSolid understanding of the execution of BIM on projects and proficiency in the use of 3D AutoCAD, Revit and NavisworksNeeds to be able to lead with energy and handle pressured situations effectively to meet aggressive project schedules
