Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These include the following, although other duties may be assigned from time to time:
· Manage 8-D processes for internal and external corrective and preventive actions*
· Act as central point for 8-D communication*
· Develop inspection methods, Control Plans, and inspection plans*
· Lead supplier quality efforts*
· Improve product quality and customer satisfaction by leading efforts to improve existing manufacturing processes through implementation of APQP disciplines*
· Manage all metrology activities for the Stamping Plant, and support product design, continuous improvement initiatives, internal troubleshooting, and compliance checks
· Organize, collect, interpret, analyze, communicate, and present part measurement data, using effective data presentation methods
· Perform capability analyses, including scenarios, and SPC
· Assist in preparation of PPAP packages
· Provide technical expertise in the application of proactive quality tools
· Be an advocate for rigorous quality processes and systems
· Manage quality metrics and present findings and recommendations to the management team*
· Ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits*
· Develop the annual internal process audit plan, train internal audit team members, perform necessary duties as Lead Internal Auditor and provide ongoing communication/reporting of results*
QUALIFICATION/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES (* Denotes critical requirement)
· BS Degree, or significant background in Quality Engineering*
· Able to read, interpret and understand complex drawings, and have a good working understanding of GD&T principles*
· Good data analysis skills, and a working understanding of capability analyses and SPC*
· 3+ years experience in Quality Engineering or related field*
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English*
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience or knowledge of advanced statistics, basic engineering, or high speed manufacturing
· 2+ years automotive experience preferred
· Knowledge of automotive engineering specifications (AIAG, TS16949 / IATF 2016) preferred
· Certified ISO Lead Auditor preferred
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong data base manipulation
· Able to travel to other locations, as well as to domestic and global suppliers
