Role: Sr Network Operations Technician 

Location: Jersey City, NJ Local only 

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

•Network Operations Technician responsible for ensuring service and stability through configuration management and monitoring. 

•Medium level network skills (move/configure/monitor)?

•Able to maintain network operations strategy through? tactical deployment, maintenance and remediation processes with limited supervision

•Able to communicate effectively, interact with end? users, vendors and colleagues to resolve technical issues and escalate problems

•Contribute to project delivery, documentation and? meetings required for design and implementation planning Organized and reliable?

Responsibilities:

•Implement, upgrade, configure, monitor and manage network technologies

•Supervise vendors and ensure procedures are followed

•Coordinate and manage communications with all affected IT workstreams, users, security personnel and vendors during implementations, upgrades and service affecting incidents

•Ensure compliance with network standards, cross departmental policies and other requirements

•Update documentation for required reports, change management committees, and network document repositories

•Participate in meetings for network design, standards, maintenance and operating procedures

•Investigate problems and consult with engineering teams for solutions

•Provide status reports for project related activities

•Escalate problems

Skills:

•Certifications (CCNP required, CCIE preferred)

•Understanding of data center and network infrastructure.  Product familiarity with Cisco, Juniper and Proxy servers required.  Technical training and coursework a plus. Any product familiarity with the following technologies:

•Network (Cisco Nexus 9k/7k, 6880, ACI, Network Automation/Orchestration Ansible, UCS Director, Load Balancers (F5), support)

•Security (Cisco ASA firewalls, Juniper, ACL's, Gigamon, Riverbed, Blue Coat Proxy, Webpulse)

•VMware, UCS Director, HP Blade Chassis, x86, Microsoft Server 2008/2012

•Good written and written communications skills with experience creating professional level technical documentation using MS Visio and Word.  Good interpersonal skills, including collaboration, communication, relationship building and demonstrated ability to work with customers and vendors across multiple IT disciplines and organization levels.
