The Mainframe Developer III is responsible for leading the development and customization of applications. The Mainframe Developer III may be called upon to function as a team lead and may have ongoing supervisory responsibilities.

The Mainframe Developer III typically reports to a systems development manager within the information systems department.

 Thorough understanding of systems programming 

Ability to design, code, test, and debug 

 Ability to take direction

7+ years experience in the IT field, with at least five years in a programming capacity; 1) expert in the design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation phases of the application systems development process

Top Priority Skillset:

iSeries – AS/400 environment

Software application development using COBOL (primary language) and RPG to write / modify

maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code

Experience with CL (Control Language)

Experience with iSeries SQL

Production Support & Incident Management experience for business applications

Proven positive communication skills and ability to provide professional and constructive feedback

Problem solving with passion to solve complex technical problems

Experience with Analysis, metrics, process improvement and problem solving

Proven technical and user-oriented documentation skills.
