Overview:
An Ab Initio Senior developer with primary focus of this position to providetechnology suggestion, architectural guidance, technological recommendationsand reusable solutions that support the development and implementation of DW/BI solutions.

Good exposure on Cognos Transformer

Requirements:
Candidate must be experienced working in  ETL based projects involving AbInitio.
Must have expertise in the following:-
• Ab Initio (Technical Expert)
• Teradata (or equivalent RDBMS)
• Cognos
• Understands where to obtain information needed to make the appropriatedecisions
• Demonstrates ability to break down a problem to manageable pieces andimplement effective, timely solutions
• Identifies the problem versus the symptom
• Manages problems that require involvement of others to solve
• Reaches sound decisions quickly
• Carefully evaluates alternative risks and solutions before takingaction 
• Optimizes the use of all available resources
• Develops solutions to meet business needs that reflect a clear understandingof the objectives, practices and procedures of the corporation, department andbusiness unit

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction ofthe Portfolio Architect, assists with ETL design and solution
• Should be able to provide data modeling solutions
• Supports maintenance of plans to address significant architecture gapsbetween current and target state
• Collaborates with business leaders to determine how to best use technology toenable growth and success (e.g. operational reporting and advanced analytics).
• Participates in defining and driving architecture competencies, processes,and best practices across Business Insurance.
• Understands potential impacts of proposed solutions on other systems,processes or projects. Articulates and documents designs, consideringtradeoffs, costs, and benefits.
• Participates in day-to-day execution of the architecture strategy
• Works within a single project to develop, communicate, and mentor others ondesign/implementation standards, guidelines and best practices
• Stakeholder Management

Skills:

• 6-8 years of workexperience in Ab Initio
• Experience of reporting tool (Cognos or equivalent)
• Experience in Ab Inito & Big data Hadoop integration
• Good analytical and logical skills in writing SQLs, Stored Procedures andcreating Marts/Views in Oracle
• A good end to end knowledge in ETL landscape; starting from source system,warehouse, mart and reports
• Very strong ETL Concepts and hands-on experience on Ab Initio ETL Tool (Basic& Advanced)
• 4-year degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working within a highly-matrixed organization
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Hands on experience on data modeling with expertise on ERWin
