Job Description:
Position Summary:
TheTraffic Analyst will work with the Traffic and Export Compliance group involvedin the following areas: Export Regulations, Import Regulations, Customs Regulations,Traffic, Logistics, for both international and domestic shipping. The Trafficand Export Compliance group manages carriers, freight forwarders and brokersworldwide, coordinates critical shipments as well as shipments that may bedelayed during the customs clearance process anywhere in the world. CorporateTraffic and Export Compliance ensures follows U.S. export regulations forshipments originating domestically and internationally.
He/shewill receive direction from, and work closely with the Manager Traffic andExport Compliance, PDO and team headquartered in San Jose, California.
TheTraffic Analyst must be able to take on multiple projects simultaneously andwork independently to solve them. Additionally, he/she must develop knowledgeof the different functional groups within client and be able to support theirbusiness needs. A major part of supporting business needs involves ensuringestablished processes and procedures account for the implications of noncompliance, as it relates to the interpretation and application of import andexport laws and regulations governing the movement of client's softwareproduct, business and personal shipments. He/she will follow all standardoperating procedures and suggest process improvement opportunities as theypresent themselves.
Responsibilities include butare not limited to:
PerformDenied Parties Screening to ensure compliance with export and other legalrequirements
Worldwideimport/export clearance support
CommercialInvoice Review
Workwith Planners, Suppliers and Freight Forwarders to ensure materials aredelivered to support product launches
Updateand maintain SOP's and Internal Compliance Manual
Workwith key business partners such as Turnkeys, Order Management, Procurement,Legal, eCommerce to ensure compliance with new business initiatives
RepresentTraffic and Export Compliance on cross functional teams as needed
Performperiodic risk assessment to identify gaps in processes, drive automation andstreamline processes wherever possible
Maintainand update routing guides
Reviewsand approves freight payables
Managesloss and damages claims
Vendorand Broker management
Knowledge & Skills:
BA/BSwith 5 or more years of experience in fast paced environment
Knowledgeof US Export Laws and Regulations
Experienceworking with domestic and international freight forwarders
Experiencewith SAP GTS or similar Export Management System a plus
Experiencewith Harmonized Tariff Schedule and essentials of import and export activities
ProjectManagement skills a plus
Softwareindustry experience beneficial
Experiencewith global, multinational companies
Experienceworking with a geographically dispersed team beneficial
Provenflexibility in dynamic environments and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
Stronganalytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
Goodwritten communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of anorganization
Good written and spoken English required
