Job Description:
Responsibilities
Lead a high performing, cross functional team to develop a framework for Data & Analytics
application best practices using a hands-on approach to implementing automation as a problem
solving mechanism.
Permeate a DevOps mindset across the Data & Analytics Support team, driving and managing
execution of scalable CI/CD and automation initiatives.
Design and document a repeatable approach to automated deployment for ETL tools like
Talend, Informatica and related visualization tools like Tableau and Qlik Sense.
Provide thought leadership and hands-on development of standardized utilities to manage
production environments building generic, reusable utilities for various operations teams to
leverage.
Measure and monitor Service Level Targets, Service Level Agreements, availability, and system
health.
Engage in and with development process to ensure that teams continue to build monitorability
and maintainability into their systems.
Qualifications
Interest in automating manual / routine tasks through analyzing, troubleshooting, optimizing
and standardizing current state processes across the organization
Excellent written and verbal English skills.
A passion for problem solving and a strong analytical mindset.
Ability to assess a situation and provide recommendations for continuous process improvement.
Expertise in software engineering, cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices specifically in
areas such as: continuous integration and continuous delivery, configuration management, and
application monitoring.
Strong experience with GIT / BitBucket
Strong experience with Jenkins, Puppet/Chef
Strong experience with Bash / Shell scripting
Experience with Python or Node.js
Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP/S, JSON, FTP, SSH, and REST
Working experience with querying common databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL,
Redshift) and creating schemas to support automation initiatives
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Manager expects this Lead Data Automation Engineer to pair with the team, train them with the skills they need to grow and mentor them so they could design and build their own infrastructure and delivery pipeline.
The ideal candidate is one who comes from a development background, knows coding even though he/she won’t be doing coding (hardcoding passwords).
They should have extensive Production environment experience wherein the deliverable is a reliable, scalable and highly available system
