Automation Engineer- Rockwell
Location :- North Eastern, PA
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of process manufacturing, field instrumentation, control system installation and implementation expertise in all of the following project phases: Requirements documentation, detailed design generation, implementation, system integration, testing and on-site startup. Plans and coordinates technical design and engineering implementation of project work.
Responsibilities:
â?¢ Rockwell resource with life sciences experience
â?¢ Design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions for various industries
â?¢ Develop P&IDs and loop descriptions for various plants, processes, and/or equipment
â?¢ Develop User Requirement Specifications.
â?¢ Develop software and hardware design specifications.
â?¢ Design, program, implement, test and document process control applications.
â?¢ Develop control system validation/testing protocols.
â?¢ Specify and purchase Siemens/Rockwell components, drives, and other electrical components and equipment.
â?¢ Develop electrical panel schematics.
â?¢ Manage automation projects as assigned.
â?¢ Monitor progress of projects.
â?¢ Install, test, and start-up control systems on-site.
Qualifications:
â?¢ A Bachelorâ??s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
â?¢ A minimum of three (3) years of experience in either a consulting engineering firm or operating engineering environment.
â?¢ Thorough knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems.
â?¢ Knowledge of and familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and international standards.
â?¢ Experience designing and programming control systems with emphasis on Siemens or Rockwell controls.
â?¢ Experience in commissioning and startup of control systems is required.
â?¢ Ability to work with plant engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage projects and assignments is essential.
â?¢ Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces and databases.
â?¢ Experience with control system networking technologies and PC networking technology.
â?¢ Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases.
â?¢ Any experience with Visual Basic scripting is a big plus.
â?¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
â?¢ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
â?¢ Ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
â?¢ Experience in biotech/pharma, water, wastewater, medical device, or the food industry is required.
â?¢ Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems is a plus.
â?¢ Specific knowledge of cGMPs and batch process control in the life science industry with validation experience is a plus.
â?¢ Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements is a plus.
Hardware & Software:
â?¢ Experience with HMI/SCADA packages such as: Rockwell RSView, FactoryTalk
â?¢ Experience with Batch systems such as: Proficy Batch Execution, or RSBatch.
â?¢ Experience with PLCs such as: Rockwell. RS logix 500, RS logix 5000, studio 5000
â?¢ Experience with: Foundation Fieldbus, Device Net, Asi Bus, or Profibus is a plus.
â?¢ Prior experience with Bioreactors, downstream process equipment is a big plus.
