- Company is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team at our St. Louis, MO location.
Job Description :
- Review the technical specifications, project documents and plans to provide accurate engineering estimates and cost analyses of the electrical and controls portion of the project to the Sales Engineering Team to develop final bid pricing.
- Develop independent product designs/design assist.
- Actively utilize company software & IT infrastructure to prepare Electrical & Controls diagrams, schematics and submittal packages or portion of the submittals to support the Application Engineering Team.
- Prepare BOM for electrical and controls components in the project.Write Sequence of Operation.
- Negotiate price, place orders, supervise and coordinate outside control company work if the project requires third party controls packages.Process Change Orders to scope and price.
- Coordinate schedules with sales, detailing and production.Coordinate work with production electrical departments in implementation and installation of electrical and controls package as needed on production floor.
- Perform factory or supervise testing and coordinate factory witness testing of controls packages.Travel to job sites to participate and coordinate unit commissioning, perform start-up of the equipment.
- Own Customer Service inquires (post-delivery) related to unit performance and support Customer Service activities related to parts order, warranty parts, etc.
- Maintain the companies UL, ETL and UL508A listings. Assist with certification agencies quarterly inspection.Manage and maintain relationships with Factory Representatives, Engineers, Vendors, Production Team and all other accounts and contacts.
- Travel for customer visits and presentations, submittal review meetings, field visits, etc.
- Continuously monitor changes in the industry, innovate product and develop new controls application.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10-years of experience in Electrical Design for HVAC systems or Machinery3 to 5-years of experience using AutoCad Electrical SoftwareMust have the ability to conduct medium/low voltage power distributionMust have the ability to work as a team and be able to communicate well with all levels of employees throughout the company.
- Experience in soliciting quotes, and conducting meetings.Ability to requisition parts and work closely with the purchasing department.Excellent relationship building skills is a must.Attention to details is imperative.
- Ability to make decisions on purchases that will require customization of the material.Possess budgeting skills on projects, and will have purchasing authority on large ticket items.
- Show resourcefulness to lead when the situation presents itself.Ability to train others in the field of Electrical and Controls concepts.Some travel may be required

Bachelors or Masters of Electrical EngineeringElectrical power system design. NEC/NFPA 70. UL-508A.
