Description:

Responsibilities:

Ability toanalyze current mainframe application inventory and set future state directionfor those applications on modern technology platforms.

Ability to createboth current state and future state solution architecture documents detailingplatforms, technologies used, integration and communication methods into andout of an application.

Contribute tocomplete an overall Enterprise Architecture strategicplan.  Establish, develop, and promote standard architecture,frameworks and guidelines.

Analyze complexbusiness and technical problems related to the implementation of new technologyand/or the customization of existing technologies.

Partner with othertechnology teams to work with business executives and end users toconceptualize new application projects, recommend technologies andimplementation strategies. Then architect/design for requirements of theproject within financial and timeline guidelines.

Understand thechanging business needs of the organization/projects and recommend viablestrategies for the future.

Author and/or Reviewarchitecture/design and other technical documents ensuring high qualitydeliverables and systems development across tech stacks and applications teams.

Review code andtechnical approaches for problem solving to ensure functional andnon-functional requirements are met in an effective and high-quality manner.

Provide guidance andmentor technical teams across multiple architecture styles and technologies toensure high quality design/implementation, re-use of enterprise/commonpatterns, improve code quality and testability/maintainability.

Scrutinize projecteffort estimations from vendors driving down costs by ensuring standard designpractices and removing duplication of effort.

Hands-on developmentcreating proof of concepts and maintaining small development projects.

Help ensure highquality software delivery by providing guidance on testing strategy, providingtechnical consultation to plan/design performance testing and profiling ofapplication, and providing feedback/guidance for tuning performance and othernon-functional elements of the application.

 

 

Requirements:

Requirements:

5 to 10 years ofexperience of Mainframe Application migration to modern architectures (e.g.Cloud, J2EE, .Net, etc…).

Multi-year /multi-project experience in following areas:

Mainframe ZOSapplication development and migration experience.

Working knowledge ofmainframe technologies CICS, IMS DC, JCL, DB2, IMS DB, etc…

High volumetransactional applications – custom app or ASP/SaaS implementations

Hands-onarchitecture/design for migrating mainframe applications to web applicationsthat are highly scalable and built in enterprise environments.

WebServices/ESB/Integration technologies including SOAP and REST based services.

More than one RDBMSplatforms (eg. DB/2, IMS DB, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

Demonstrable abilityto self-manage time and priorities in a complex multi-team matrix environmentwhile maintaining high-quality deliverables for oneself as well as your techteams.

Demonstrable abilityto communicate in verbal/written and diagrams formats to technical andnon-technical audiences of varying skillset and seniority.

(a Plus) Experiencein more than one IT discipline such as web/mobile applicationarchitecture/design, middleware/integration architecture/design within/acrossenterprises, information security architecture/design, and databasearchitecture/design.

(a Plus) Experiencein Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, Open Source frameworks, Monitoring services (suchas AppDynamics), Containerization (using Docker) and integration with COTSproducts and/or legacy technologies.

(a Plus) Experiencein Java EE, Angular JS, JQuery, etc…

(a Plus) Experiencein .NET platform (C#, WCF, etc.)
