IT Program Manager Location: Syracuse, NY 6-12+ mo - 3 positions
Job Description:
The IT Program Manager Contractor must have strong practical experience in project management for information technology projects, which was gained through managing large and complex projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage a collection of related IT projects in a coordinated way to obtain better benefits/controls
•Coordinate projects and their interdependencies in the program
•Ensure all program milestones are completed on-time, within scope, and within budget
•Develop and manage program budget through partnership with IT leaders
•Define and implement an effective system of program governance (controls); monitor, control and report progress
•Proactively manage changes in scope, identify and analyze potential crises, and devise contingency plans
•Effectively deliver team member and stakeholder communications in a timely, clear, and compelling fashion

oEnsure open communication
oCommunicate with senior leadership across all areas of the organization
•Present reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
•Create and maintain scorecards to track vendor and partner performance.
•Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
•Combine business acumen, technical acumen and process expertise to define engagement and program execution

•Mastery of software programs and tools including MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Visio / SharePoint / TFS / JIRA
•Demonstrated success using project management software, such as MS Project and/or Smartsheet
oPrevious experience with PPM software such as Innotas, Planview, and/or Workfront is a plus
•Ability to adapt approach to the context and constraints of each project
•Organized with a keen attention to detail
•Talent for handling shifting priorities / demands / timelines and effectively executing tasks in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to react to program adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently is crucial
•Experience managing offshore teams and/or 3rd party vendors
•Must know, understand, and apply new technologies, including but not limited to a strong working knowledge of digital and cloud technologies
•Must be willing and able to reflect the organizational culture and strategy
Qualifications:
•Bachelor degree (required) or Master degree (preferred) in a discipline with technology focus
•Professional certification from an accredited institute (PgMP preferred)
•10+ years direct Project Management (PM) work experience managing Application Development, Infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Digital, and/or Cloud technologies
•5+ years of Program Management in Information Technology, with demonstrated success
•3+ years PM or PgMP experience communicating /managing stakeholders at the Executive level
