Role:Business Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Assess business requirements for analytics and reporting and determine the best sources and types of data to fulfill requirements
  
• Verify reporting and analytics requirements and provide measures and scorecards to monitor data quality
  
• Collaborate with data stewards in other areas to coordinate data sourcing and valid usages
  
• Assist in the development of detailed requirements and manage the data ingestion, extraction, and transformation
  
• Catalog and categorize data, develop taxonomy, maintain related business glossary entries, and develop metadata standards
  
• Assist other business areas to understand UW data and how to use it appropriately
  
• Have the ability to navigate through large amounts of data/data sources in order to assist in the development of reports for Underwriting Management and key strategic initiatives
  
• Cleary and concisely articulate in written and verbal communication to ensure that developed reports align with consumer goals
  
• Assist in the creation and management of analytical tools that transform operational data into actionable insight.
  
• Participate in special projects as assigned related to potential fraud, schemes or gaps in controls.
  
• Expected to gain a thorough understanding of the business, to make recommendations for additional reviews where there may be gaps.
  

Qualifications

• College Degree required
• 3+ Years of related experience
• Strong data analysis aptitude. Extensive understanding of client products, services, and administrative systems preferred.
• Experience and a strong background with Excel. Spotfire knowledge also preferred, but not required.
• Strong SQL skills is required, as well as, the ability to analyze and evaluate data quality.
• Must have the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
• Prior business knowledge required, preferably, Underwriting, Inforce Service, or Agency experience.
