Job Description:
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
- Work directly with users to develop systems enhancements and resolve production problems.
- Participates in test process for new development, report modification and functionality enhancement.
- Participates in the planning, installation, implementation, upgrade, problem determination and resolution involving software programs.
- Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and revise existing system logic difficulties as necessary under direction of experienced Business System Analysts.
- Responsible for maintenance, enhancement and interface of assigned application systems.
- Assist in developing project plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, and work assignments.
- Coordinate establishing, documenting, and implementing procedures and tasks instructions for the company.
- Interface with and support customer in the operation of applications and systems.
- Perform single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope.
- Gather, elicit, and define requirements, specifications and business processes for small projects with minimal oversight.
- Manage and maintain software to include upgrades, performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance
- Perform root cause analysis of system problems and provide corrective actions.
- Work with departments to ensure user acceptance, execution and successful transition.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of assigned business application software and/or knowledge of assigned business area.
- Ability to apply business knowledge to analysis of systems and data.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to exchange project related information with appropriate team members.
- Good analytical, problem solving, and organizations skills.
- Familiarity with various software and spreadsheet applications.
- Basic understanding of SQL Server and database concepts.
Experience & Education
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related area, with exposure to business systems principles; or 2 years of experience supporting application and business users.
- Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.
